Traditional Tales on Paper
At this moment all of my books and Advent calendars are in German. For many years I have dreamed about a collection of the best tales from my eight books published in English. If a passionate lover of stories wants to finance this English edition I would really enjoy translating the tales. Please contact me, if you want to make this possible!
I am passionate about old folk tales and orally transmitted wisdom stories. With curiosity and patience I spend many, many hours searching for stories that resonate to something within me.
Each folktale I tell many times until it shines like a jewel. Only then do I write the story down. Even people who already know a lot of folklore will find unusual tales from precious sources in my books. Some I find in old editions of collections, others I hear at storytelling events.
In German the distance between oral language and written text is considerable.
The stories in my books are closer to spoken language, they are meant to be read aloud; each sentence rolling off the tongue smoothly. My love for the spoken word can be felt in each tale.
